When it comes to your mental health what you surround yourself with is important. Such as where you live, can affect your mental and physical health either positively or negatively.

There is one state specifically that has been known to help improve one’s mental and physical health, it is Florida. It has been known that “by choosing to live near the beaches and Gulf of Mexico, you are actually going to also give your health and wellbeing a much-needed boost” (millenniumftmyers). Going to the beach is something people always do to help relieve stress, anxiety, or depression.

The beach is their home away from home. With “Natural elements, like fresh air and salty water, can have healing properties that enable you to feel refreshed and rejuvenated. For this reason, many people vacation to the beach or ocean each year to feel refreshed when they return home” (millenniumftmyers). Another boost that comes with surrounding yourself in a place with sunshine is “the sunshine gives you some much-needed vitamin C that will help boost your energy and your mood.  You'll notice that after you spend some time in the sun, you feel much more reenergized and refreshed.  Boating can provide you with the ability to have ultimate sun exposure as it is reflected off the ocean” (millenniumftmyers).

All in all, sunshine is something everybody needs occasionally, to help reset your mind, body, and mental health. That is why it is so important to live somewhere where the sun is constantly out like Florida, or at least take a vacation to a place like Florida once every year.
