I love you like the rain loves Seattle

Updated: Mar 10

It is well known that rainy days cause laziness, tiredness, and overall gloominess. Rainy days are not for the faint of heart. It has been shown that rainy days cause an increase in mental health issues such as anxiety and depression.

Imagine living in a place where it rains all the time, imagine the number of disadvantages it can cause for your mental and physical health. A place that has weather like this is Seattle, Washington. With “Seattle’s gloomy weather it plays a major role in the attitudes and moods of its citizens” (Seattle Spectator).

What a person surround themselves with daily will determine the outcome of their mental health, physical health, emotions, attitudes, and mood. Also “with the Seattle Freeze often causing Seattleites to seem standoffish and almost half of the adults in the city feeling depressed and hopeless, it’s hardly a surprise that the Emerald City can be a difficult place to live” (Seattle Spectator).

While Seattle does have some advantages it also has many disadvantages such as the ones listed above. It is encouraged and so important to choose a place to live that will improve your mental health and physical health and not condemn them.
